The Sage revealed these feelings were caused by the goddess Mahamaya, the Great Illusion, and shared an ancient tale. He recounted how Brahma praised the goddess at the end of a previous Kalpa to save the world from the demons Madhu and Kaitabha, and how Vishnu awakened and defeated them.
