This peak was on our list for years. Since we knew this would be a very beautiful hike, we wanted to do it on a sunny day. So April 5 was the day😊

We drove along Harrison FSR for 5 kilometers before turning right onto Slollicum FSR. Compared to years ago when we did Slollicum Peak, this area has changed significantly thanks to the logging activities. We drove along this logging road till 850m elevation, where snow started. Where we parked was only 200ish meters from the creek, across which a new bridge has been built. We then followed this snow covered logging road till 950m elevation, where we put on our snowshoes. Generally speaking this logging road is in a good condition other than some annoying alders. After hiking around 6 kilometers, we turned right into the forest. We had around 20 minutes’ of moderate bushwhacking before we were in the mature forest. There is much less snow at the peak area. The summit is forested with not many views; but the open area, 30 meters away from the summit, has an incredible view of the whole Harrison Lake. We spent 50 minutes on the top before heading back. On the way down we took a different route back to the logging road; and we also took a nice short cut on the logging road. It was interesting that we did minimal trail breaking on the ascent, but we had to work hard to break the trail on the descent thanks to the warm sun. C2C 5 hours & 50 minutes. Totally 13.6 kilometers with 759 meters of elevation gain.
