What is a multiworld?
From https://archipelago.gg - "This is a cross-game modification system which randomizes different games, then uses the result to build a single unified multi-player game. Items from one game may be present in another, and you will need your fellow players to find items you need in their games to help you complete your own."

In short, we play different games but depend on each other to find important items that will allow us make progress. Lagspike will be playing Hollow Knight, Bluegh will be playing Sonic Adventure 2, and I will be playing Slay the Spire.

How does Slay the Spire get randomized?
The Archipelago implementation for Slay the Spire does warrant a more detailed explanation. In short, my "checks" (the "items" that get scattered to the other player's games and are replaced with their items) are every relic reward, every OTHER card reward, the 2 boss relics, and the 2 rare card rewards after defeating a boss.

When other players send me cards/relics, they go into a special inventory that persists between deaths. So if I die after being sent 3 card rewards, I will start the next attempt with 3 card rewards. Archipelago also sets my run to a fixed seed, meaning that all of the randomness in the game - such as map generation, enemy patterns, etc. - will play out in the same way on each attempt. The combination of the persistent inventory and fixed seed results in a very different kind of gameplay to vanilla StS in which I will be able to manipulate my build a good bit more than usual and create the closest thing to a perfect build that the available resources allow me to create. Think of it like the closest StS can get to being a Metroidvania, allowing me to "explore" the seed to take full advantage of the lack of randomness. I will be playing on ascension 20 (Defect), and dependent on the other players for resources, so it should still be fun and challenging even with this incredible advantage.
