What is a Ring Jet Burner?
High heat ring jet burners have been around since the early 1900's and have proven to be one of the best systems for applications that require a great deal of heat. These high heat, cast iron jet burners can produce up to 432,000 BTU of heat per square foot of burner area, require no adjustments, and develop temperatures of up to 1900 degrees F. Unlike a conventional cast iron burner which has a burner head, a throat, and a venturi, these burners accomplish the mixing of the air and gas by air intake at the base of each brass jet. The orifice is in the base of the brass jet. The air/gas mixing begins in the brass jet and continues to the hottest part of the flame which is usually at a 10" distance from the top of the brass jets. Roofing contractors commonly use the big cast iron jet burners as roofing tar pot heaters and also for heating asphalt.
