Partners Empowering AgroEcology Community Education (P.E.A.C.E.), GirlsForClimateAction, Busaino Fruits/ Busoga Farmers Network are working to expand tree planting with small farmers in the Nile Basin Bio-District. Small farmers and tree planters will share how collaboration got implemented by starting with a children's class. Several of the partners will share their activities and the part they are playing in the expansion of tree planting on small farms. Using photos and videos, and by collaborating with participants of ABS Agriculture Working Group, we wish to share what is being accomplished and our vision for future transformation of food production from monocrops to bio-diverse, soil regenerating and carbon sequestering agroecology methods.
Partners Empowering AgroEcology Community Education (P.E.A.C.E.) and GirlsForClimateAction have teamed up to expand tree planting with small farmers in the Nile Basin Bio-District. Partners include: Social Justice Clubs (Junior Youth groups) in Kansas Missouri and Bukaya/ Nakibizzi Uganda (with IT Training); Busaino Fruits/ Busoga Farmers Network/ agroecology skills training; Global Match; React Now Save Young Mothers; EcoShelter; EcoMamas in Butiki and Namutumba; First Line School Nakibizzi; Kween Farmers group; Generation Roots Foundation. Tree planters also include Masaidio Kalenga of Kimanya Ngeyo Foundation for Science and Education; and Teresa Gitonga of International Tree Foundation whose experience is much valued by our team.
