Hello Youtube!

As promised we are back with part II of our Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9650 series. In this video we go over various game benchmarks and evaluate the performance of the CPU when overclocked to 3.7GHz. Much like I theorized in Part I, we are severely limited by lack of SSE 4.2 and AVX instructions. This meant that 5 of the games I tried tested (Halo Infinite, Apex Legends, Cyberpunk 2077, COD Warzone and Doom Eternal) failed to even start. I was surprised on how well some of the games preformed (especially Battlefield V). But I was disappointed with performance in other (mostly Fortnite). Overall I can't recommend spending money on a Core 2 Quad based system for modern gaming. The platform is just too dated and there are comparable alternatives for similar prices.

Specs of the system in this video are
Asus P5Q Deluxe Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad QX9650 4C/4T @ 3.7GHz
16GB of DDR2 800MHz @ ~850MHz (quite rare on an intel board from what I can tell)
GTX 1060 6GB
Adapter 6805 RAID PCIe card
128GB Samsung 830 SSD boot drive
750GB 2.5" WD Black HDD for storage
Creative SB X-fi
Cisco PCI Dual Band Wireless N
Some random Thermaltake tower cooler.
650w Antec PSU

In the next video I'll probably finally show how I mod my 8770w GPU driver for Windows 10 use. It's almost 8 months out of date and in serious need of an update.

Remember don't like, don't subscribe, don't comment.
