The Benld meteorite is an H5 ordinary chondrite that is currently housed at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Chondrites are stony meteors that have chondrules in them. These are little bits and pieces of debris from the early solar system. Meteorites are an important part of our Earth's history. Fun fact, the Benld Meteor fell on September 29th. Which is today at the time of premier, BUT it is also the day that the Earth is getting a second moon for a few weeks. An asteroid will become the Earth's second moon for a few weeks. The place where geology and astronomy meet is one that utterly fascinates me. Earth sciences are so cool!
