A timeless ballad of longing and remembrance, “Memory” finds new life through the haunting sound of the ancient Greek lyre. In this unique rendition, Cordelia Hanford Foster (vocals) and Sarah Wang (a pianist prodigy playing the lyre) breathe fresh emotion into this classic.
In this video, Sarah performs on a 7-string Lyre of Aphrodite, masterfully handcrafted in Greece by the LUTHIEROS family. The filming took place during the Lyre Summer Camp 2024 at Aegina Island, Greece.

🎙️ Who is Sarah Wang?
Sarah Wang is a 15-year-old pianist from Shenzhen, known for her expressive performances and deep musical insight. She began piano lessons at age 3 under Professor Wu Zijie and has since studied with esteemed instructors, including Dr. Marc Silverman of the Manhattan School of Music and Professor Soyeon Kate Lee from The Juilliard School.
Wang has achieved recognition in various competitions, such as the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth and the Miami International Piano Competition. Her 2023 recital at the Shenzhen Concert Hall featured works by Bach, Chopin, Ravel, and Beethoven, highlighting her ability to convey profound emotions through music.
In 2024, she took part in the first-ever Lyre Summer Camp on Aegina Island, where she quickly evolved as a lyre player. This video was also filmed during that time.

Cordelia Hanford Foster is a singer/songwriter, actor, and fine artist from New York City.
She is currently developing her debut alt/folk album of original music on which the ancient lyre will be featured!
