SRPMIC Community Day, June 14

On this date, 1879, President Hayes signed an executive order establishing the Salt River Reservation to its current approximate size. On this day, we do not celebrate the legal recognition of land that was already ours. On this day, we reflect on the struggles our ancestors endured so we could remain in our homeland. We celebrate the continued existence of our tribal nation, our people, our cultures and our languages. We celebrate the fact that we are still here.
