Trump returned to the campaign trail, visiting Michigan and Wisconsin and stirring up controversy along the way. In Michigan, he talked about a young woman who was murdered by someone immigration officials say entered the country illegally.

Trump claimed to have spoken to the victim’s family, though members said he hadn’t.

Then in Wisconsin, Trump called the situation at the US-Mexico border a “bloodbath” that he vowed to end if elected.

The former president is focusing on Michigan and Wisconsin hoping to turn the tide of some polling that has him trailing Biden in these crucial swing states.
