Recently, my husband and I went to see Jagged Edge.

If you were a high schooler in the late '90s or early 2000s, you know their incredible harmonies and moving ballads.At the concert, they sounded great—except for this metallic guitarist and heavy drums that drowned out their voices.

Every time those instruments kicked in, the beautiful harmonies faded away. It got me thinking: What are we doing in our personal and professional lives that makes our messages too cluttered?

We often have great points to share, but we pile on baggage—worrying about what others think or dragging in past experiences that don’t apply.

This muddies our message and makes it hard for anyone to appreciate what we truly have to say.I know I’m guilty of it too! But it’s crucial to look at what needs to be stripped away so your message shines through clearly and concisely.Let’s eliminate the extra noise and let our true voices be heard!
