I have recently completed a new acrylic painting titled "Emerald Swirls," measuring 34 by 36 inches on a 1 1/2 inch deep gallery wrap canvas. This piece was created using a fluid acrylic pouring technique inspired by the natural patterns found in tree rings. The composition features two prominent abstract forms that evoke cross-sections of tree trunks or geodes, rendered in layers of green hues against a deep black background. The swirling concentric patterns provide a sense of depth and movement, with lighter greens radiating from the center of each form. Achieving this effect required two carefully executed pours to create balanced and dynamic shapes with distinct textures. This work continues my exploration of organic shapes through fluid paint methods and aims to engage the viewer through its contrast and intricate detailing.
