Kevin Hurd - avid Giants fan his entire life. His two-volume book series: "From Randy Johnson to Dallas Braden: No-hitters Beyond The Box Score?". Kevin lives in Fort Worth so he will be joining us via Zoom.

I will open up the meeting by sharing a few stories about the chapter's event at Fanfest, our SABR Day event on January 31, which you can watch here (   • Houston Larry Dierker SABR Day Video  ), and talk briefly about an event Mike McCroskey and I went to at Bayou Bend today.

I will also spend time talking about chapter events that will occur over the next few months.

Chapter VP Herb Whalley will discuss this year's annual Astros Win contest

Chapter communication director Patrick Petty will talk about the annual chapter Fantasy Baseball League.

I will also speak about events occurring in April and May, including a Vintage Baseball event at Bayou Bend on April 19 and our chapter outing on May 9 at Constellation Field.

I will also spend time talking about SABR 54 in Cleveland, OH. Registration is now open (https://sabr.org/convention/2026/regi....

February 16, 2026: Louis H. Schiff (born June 3, 1955) is a retired American judge, attorney, professor, and author. He served as a Broward County Court Judge in Florida from 1997 to 2024, recognized for educational sentencing practices, judicial education and judicial leadership. Schiff is an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and co-author of Baseball and the Law: Cases and Materials (2016), a seminal casebook on baseball law[1][2] and Attorneys in the Baseball Hall of Fame (2025)[3]
