June 19, 1940
Against all expectations, the Netherlands was unable to stop the German army in the north and south of the Netherlands. Many Dutch troops have been pushed back to Belgium or France, with the aim of being transferred as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, the German Blitzkrieg steamrolled through the French defenses and Paris fell after 4 weeks. During these 4 weeks, the Allies tried to thwart the Germans, but the counter-attacks failed time after time.
With their backs against the wall, the Allies launch 'Operation Aerial'; The evacuation of the Allied troops in France towards England.
