RIO: Lisa Carrington | Canoe Sprint | Newshub Sport

Описание к видео RIO: Lisa Carrington | Canoe Sprint | Newshub Sport

Lisa Carrington was chasing a piece of history in Rio.

The London canoe sprint gold medallist is going for the 200m - 500m double, and if she does the 27 year old would become the first New Zealand woman to win two gold medals at the same games.

She would also become just the sixth Kiwi athlete to achieve the feat, joining Peter Snell (1964), kayakers Ian Ferguson, Paul MacDonald and Alan Thompson (1984) and Danyon Loader (1996).

Carrington is the reigning 200m and 500m world champion, and has held the world title in the 200m since 2011.

In Newshub's Rio series, Carrington tells us in her own words about her quest for gold.
