Unsung India Foundation presents Dorje Angchuk, an Indian engineer and astrophotographer from Ladakh, celebrated for his stunning night sky photos. Born in Spituk, Ladakh, Angchuk's passion for astronomy was sparked by witnessing the Hale-Bopp comet in 1997. He holds a degree in Electronics and Communication from NIT Surat and joined the Indian Astronomical Observatory. In 2010, mentored by Ajay Talwar, Angchuk ventured into astrophotography. His breathtaking images earned him the distinction of being the first Indian honorary member of the International Astronomical Union in 2021. Angchuk's work showcases Ladakh's pristine dark skies, promoting astrotourism in Hanley and inspiring global appreciation for the cosmos.
