During the filming of The End (1978), Dom DeLuise suddenly grabbed Burt Reynolds in the middle of a scene and kissed him — completely unscripted. Reynolds froze, stunned, while the crew exploded with laughter. The take was ruined.

And then, on the very next take? DeLuise did it again. Reynolds couldn’t keep a straight face, shoved him lightly, and doubled over laughing. The whole set descended into chaos.

But Reynolds knew he had captured something special: real, unplanned joy. He insisted the scene stay in the movie.

"Working with Dom meant you never knew what would happen next," Reynolds said. "That’s why I loved it."

DeLuise passed away in 2009, but that moment — chaotic, hilarious, heartfelt — lives on as a perfect snapshot of their friendship.
