The Central Highlands gong cultural space spreads throughout the five provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong and the owners of this unique cultural form are residents of the Central Highlands ethnic groups: Bana, Xe Dang, Mnong, Coho, Romam, Ede, Giarai

Gongs are closely associated with the lives of the Central Highlands people, being the voice of spirituality and the human soul, to express joy and sadness in life, in their labor and daily activities. Gongs are musical instruments made of copper alloy, sometimes mixed with gold, silver or black bronze. Gongs are those with knobs, gongs without knobs. This musical instrument has many sizes, diameter from 20cm to 60cm, maximum size from 90cm to 120cm.

Central Highlands gongs are recognized by UNESCO as masterpieces of oral and intangible traditions of humanity.
