Couldn't find a real review/info video for this service, so I made one myself! (Scroll down in the description for review updates from the following two years of my subscription!)

REVIEW UPDATE #1 (2014): I've been getting these for a few months now...and they're all very tasty! There is a good variety of lights/darks/etc., they taste like quality beans, and the stories about where they came from are pretty neat. (For example: The coffee I had the other day was grown near an active volcano, which alters the local soil and makes the coffee beans taste unique.) If you have the money and like good coffee, I'd recommend it!

REVIEW UPDATE #2 (2015): I've since canceled my subscription to this service. You do have to call them to cancel it (you cannot do it online), but it was very quick/easy and their Customer Support did not hassle me at all to try to convince me to stay, etc., which was a nice surprise. There was nothing really wrong with the service, all of the coffees that I received were quite good as a matter of fact, there's just a few compounding reasons I eventually stopped receiving it:

a) The price is a bit high for the amount of coffee you get...even though the coffee tastes good, I'm not sure that most of them taste so vastly superior to standard coffee varieties that they command the higher per-pound cost.

b) You don't get all that much coffee really...I usually drink a 10-cup pot of coffee per day by myself, so the amount of coffee in the box would only last me maybe 2-3 weeks, meaning that I'd still have to go buy more coffee at the store anyway each month.

c) Even if you get one that you really enjoy, there's no way to get more! I think this is a key problem in that the coffee you get is generically branded so you can't, for example, order a few pounds of a specific kind after you taste it from your box and fall in love with the flavor. If you love a bag you get, too bad...you can never get any more of it!

d) After awhile, many of the varieties seem to taste very similar...the beans are sourced from many of the same regions so after several months, you will have tasted most of the light and dark flavor profiles that are offered.

I think the subscription is a good idea for a while (maybe 6-12 months), to kind of expand your coffee-tasting horizons, maybe taking note of what you think of the varieties from each of the different regions. However, once you figure out which kinds/beans/regions you tend to enjoy the most, it probably makes sense to cancel the subscription and go find a similar retail brand that you can consistently buy. I don't regret my subscription though, as I was able to taste a lot of different kinds of coffee varieties, and the in-box information sheet was actually very informative, as well...but ultimately I more or less grew out of the service. Would still make a nice short-term gift for a coffeephile, though!
