Welcome to Cooke City, Montana. We always recommend hiring a guide to take you into the backcountry. But, here's a quick lay of the land to get your bearings.

Daisy Pass is the quickest ride of our first 3 trail recommendations. It's groomed the whole way up and leads to some incredible views. Start by heading to the end of town and jump on The Plug. It's smart to double check your avalanche beacon before heading out.

Daisy Pass trailhead is the first left you'll come across. Take the left turn and start heading up some switch backs. You'll quickly gain elevation and get some views above town. After a few switch backs the trail will start heading toward the far off peaks. The trail will come to a T with the Lulu Pass connector trail. Turn left to stay the course towards Daisy. You can come back here later and go the other way to connect over to Lulu or Round Lake.

With a groomed trail all the way to the top, this ride is great if you're short on time or brand new to snowmobiling. Daisy is also the starting point to access a lot of Cooke's renowned terrain. Your best chance to experience some of these goods is to hire a guide. They're the best way to get to know all the Absaroka Backcountry has to offer.
