February 2023 LabCoP ECHO Session: The Revised and new ISO 15189:2022 Standard - Part 2

This is part 2 of a special LabCoP ECHO series dedicated to the revised and new ISO 15189:2022 standard that specifies requirements for quality and competence in medical laboratories. In part 1, we previewed key changes from the 2012 to 2022 version. The standard continues to be more patient focused and emphasises laboratory services' integral role in clinical and public health. All countries and all medical laboratories are encouraged to take steps to review quality management systems against the requirements of the new standard. In this 2nd Session, we take a deep dive into changes needed at the operational level and from the country and facilities level, to conform to the revised standard.
