When Microsoft releases a new semi-annual* update of Windows 10, not everyone gets the new bits on the same day. Instead, the company upgrades computers gradually, and it takes some time until the new version reaches every device.

However, if you really want to upgrade, the company allows you to download the Windows 10 installation files using the Media Creation Tool. The tool helps to perform an in-place upgrade or create an installation media using a USB flash drive or DVD disc to do a clean install.

In this video, you’ll learn the steps to create a USB bootable media with the Windows 10 installation files, which you can use to upgrade other computers.

STEP 1. Download Media Creation Tool.
STEP 2. Under the “Create Windows 10 installation media” section, click the Download tool now button and save the file on your device.
STEP 3. Double-click the MediaCrationTool1909.exe file to launch the tool.
STEP 4. Click the Accept button.
STEP 5. Select the "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC" option.
STEP 6. Click the Next button.
STEP 7. Click the Next button again. (If you’re creating an Windows 10 ISO for another device, you can also clear the Use the recommended options for this PC option to select the correct language, architecture, and edition.)
STEP 8. Select the ISO file option.
STEP 9. Click the Next button.
STEP 10. Choose location where would you like to store this ISO.
STEP 11. Click the Next button.
STEP 12. Click the Finish button.

Once you complete the steps, you can double-click the file to mount the ISO, and running the Setup.exe file will start the in-place upgrade process.

Alternatively, you can use third-party tools like Rufus to create a bootable media to start your device to perform a clean installation of Windows 10 with the latest feature update.
