From Flushing to Harwich and London around 1937 in colour!

Описание к видео From Flushing to Harwich and London around 1937 in colour!

An interesting film about a crossing by ferry ("Prinses Beatrix" (?)) with the "Stoomvaart Maatschappij Zeeland (SMZ)" from Flushing (Vlissingen) in The Netherlands to Harwich across the Northsea, followed by a visit to London.
The SMZ started its operations in 1875 in Vlissingen. This lasted until WW-II. From 1 January 1947 the SMZ moved to Hook of Holland from where Stena line at present still operates its daily schedule of two crossings back and fourth (despite Corona).

The original film has been restored, upscaled, motion-stabilized and colorized by means of the latest A.I. software. The "DeOldify" colourization A.I. still has a lot to learn, among other that London's double-decker busses should be red and not orange-ish.

The music is by Harry Davidson & his Orchestra from his rare album 'Old Time Dancing':
- Mountain Greenery
- Gay Parade
- Gay Romance
- Way of your Heart.

PS: The word "Gay" (in these music titles) simply meant "happy" in the 1930's. The meaning changed in the 1960's.
