Robin Hood Heroes 2023: Full Event

Every year, Robin Hood celebrates the work of three extraordinary organizations providing critical resources to those in need across the five boroughs. At this year’s 34th annual Heroes Breakfast, we honored Fair Housing Justice Center, KindWork, and NYLAG — and met the incredible individuals whose stories exemplify their impact.

Nana Zakia is an artist, activist, and community advocate from Harlem who endured years in the shelter system and fought income discrimination in the rental market before landing in a safe, stable new home.

Yiromys Vallejo is a determined single mother building a coveted career in the tech sector after several dead-end jobs and a long period of unemployment.

Yarys Lopez is a college senior translating her family’s experience as asylum seekers and domestic violence survivors to help others on her path to becoming an immigration lawyer.
