Allah commands the believers to send prayers upon Prophet Muhammad (S) out of reverence and honor towards him - "Verily Allah and His angels send prayers upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send prayers upon him and salute him with abundant greetings of peace" - [33:56] The Holy Qur'an.

The Messenger (S) of Allah said, "Whosoever sends a single prayer upon me, Allah will send tenfold prayers upon him on account of it." - Muslim, Sahih

In accordance with the command of Allah and His Messenger, Muslims send prayers and blessings upon the Prophet (S) on a daily basis. Moreover, they have compiled some of the world's best poetry in praise of Prophet Muhammad (S) and recited them individually and communally, in private and public, for centuries. Each line has an effect on the hearts of the believers, ignites a fire of love and yearning for the Prophet Muhammad (S), and often brings them to tears. Muslims also believe that sending prayers upon the Prophet (S) removes difficulties, anxieties, hardships, and problems.
