👑 Who was Qutb-ud-Din Aibak? Qutb-ud-Din Aibak was the founder of the Mamluk Dynasty (Slave Dynasty) and the first Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate. A former slave who rose to become a powerful general under Muhammad Ghori, he is famous for commissioning the Qutb Minar in Delhi and the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque. He tragically died in Lahore in 1210 A.D. while playing a game of Polo (Chaugan) and was buried right here in Anarkali.
