The Last Ten Kilometers: What it Takes to Improve Health Outcomes in Rural Ethiopia (L10K) project is designed to find long-term solutions to improve maternal, reproductive, newborn, and child health—particularly in rural areas—and to reduce maternal and newborn mortality at the community level.

L10K works to strengthen linkages between households and Ethiopia's Health Extension Program (HEP), empowering health extension workers with timely, accurate health information on every pregnant woman and newborn in a community so they can form strategies for care and referral provision.

L10K has doubled the number of women receiving prenatal care and tripled the number of women who give birth at health facilities.
