Let's start the new year by playing all the King's Quest games!

The second King's Quest, also designed by Roberta Williams, released in 1985. Very much like the first game, taking place in a new land. You wander around a fantasy kingdom which consists of a grid of screens, and gradually solve puzzles. I've always liked this simple, whimsical style of adventure game; it's almost like a miniature open world to explore, which usually has something interesting on each screen.

The 2nd game has slightly more sophisticated presentation and design than the first game, and also features slightly more unfair puzzles (in particular, the bridge which you can only walk across so many times before you softlock your game.) Still has a ton of charm. Overall I like this one just a bit better than the 1st.
