About Temple :
The Golden Temple in Amritsar, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, is the spiritual center of Sikhism and one of the most visited places of worship in India. It sits at the heart of the city, surrounded by a large sacred pool called the Amrit Sarovar. The water gives the entire complex a calm, reflective feel, especially when the gold-covered shrine glows at sunrise or under evening lights.

The temple was built in the sixteenth century under the guidance of Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru. Over time it became a symbol of equality, openness, and service. Anyone can enter, regardless of background or belief. The structure itself is a blend of Hindu and Islamic design elements, with marble inlays, decorative arches, and detailed carvings that draw visitors in from all over the world.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the Golden Temple is the langar, the community kitchen that serves free meals every day. Volunteers cook, clean, and serve simple vegetarian food to tens of thousands of people. The scale of it is impressive, but the spirit behind it is what stays with most visitors.

Walking through the complex, you see pilgrims circling the water, listening to live recitations of the Guru Granth Sahib, and pausing for quiet reflection. Even with the crowds, the place feels grounded. It’s a reminder of how faith, community, and service come together in a way that is both humble and memorable.
