The Pave the Road movie is more than a film, it is a movement to redirect waste away from oceans and into roads.

The Pave the Road movie is award-winning, Canadian filmmaker, Kelly Mason’s poetic memoir, self-shot over a decade, documenting hers' and her children’s compassionate separation from their father to pave a new road in the jungles of Costa Rica, not only for the well-being of the broken family but for the planet itself.

The film is the the voice of the children, the communities, and the neglected citizens of Costa Rica who have suffered from deadly road dust as the result of government and private company corruption. Despite threats, Kelly interviews government officials, medical experts, community members, and invests 4 years of testing waste materials at the National Laboratory of the University of Costa Rica (LANAMME-UCR). Their research makes groundbreaking discoveries that waste materials can replace fossil fuels, when melted back to their original state, and create a better, longer lasting matrix for asphalt and road construction.

Kelly presents these facts to the many sectors of government for approval including multiple Presidents of the country, ministers, and Congress. However the people have had enough and a full blown protest, involving military police breaks out, and she and her children continue to fearlessly find their way to the highest corridors of power to eventually succeed in helping make environmental law. All the while, the family moves through their own journey of personal healing.

La película Pave the Road es la premiada cineasta canadiense, las memorias poéticas de Kelly Mason, autodidacta durante una década, que documenta la compasiva separación de ella y sus hijos de su padre para allanar un nuevo camino en las selvas de Costa Rica, no solo por el bienestar de la familia rota, pero por el planeta mismo.

La película es la voz de los niños, las comunidades y los ciudadanos abandonados de Costa Rica que han sufrido el polvo mortal de las carreteras como resultado de la corrupción del gobierno y de las empresas privadas. A pesar de las amenazas, Kelly entrevista a funcionarios del gobierno, expertos médicos, miembros de la comunidad e invierte 4 años en analizar materiales de desecho en el Laboratorio Nacional de la Universidad de Costa Rica (LANAMME-UCR). Su investigación hace descubrimientos revolucionarios de que los materiales de desecho pueden reemplazar a los combustibles fósiles, cuando se derriten a su estado original, y crean una matriz mejor y más duradera para la construcción de carreteras y asfalto.

Kelly presenta estos hechos a los muchos sectores del gobierno para su aprobación, incluidos varios presidentes del país, ministros y el Congreso. Sin embargo, la gente ha tenido suficiente y estalla una protesta en toda regla, que involucra a la policía militar, y ella y sus hijos continúan sin temor encontrando su camino hacia los corredores más altos del poder para eventualmente tener éxito en ayudar a hacer una ley ambiental. Mientras tanto, la familia avanza a través de su propio viaje de sanación personal.
