Understanding Building Drift Code Requirements using RAM Structural System

Описание к видео Understanding Building Drift Code Requirements using RAM Structural System

Failure to understand, limit and design for structural drift can result in problems ranging from occupant discomfort to damage to nonstructural components to structural failure. Just as it is important for structural members to have the strength capacity to resist member design forces, it is important for the frames and walls to have adequate stiffness to resist excessive lateral drift. This video discusses the requirements of the Building Code as they pertain to structural drift and demonstrates tools and strategies for determining and providing the necessary stiffness to the structure. This webinar was presented in December 2014 by Allen Adams, P.E., S.E., Chief Structural Engineer for the RAM group at Bentley Systems, Inc., and product manager for the RAM Structural System.
