【Starry × Caruka】 ツノ / Tsuno【踊ってみた】- Dance Cover

Once upon a time, there was a sweet, inquisitive little guy who suddenly sprouted horns~!

At the very beginning of October, I got the chance to meet up with Caruka again! It was sooooo good to see her; we had a blast spending such a lovely day in the park dancing together!

We had originally planned to meet in the spring and dance one choreography. We'd even arranged a date and planned outfits and everything--but on that day, it rained and stormed so horribly that we had to cancel everything! Since we had to postpone anyway, we decided to add a second choreography to our lineup and wait until later...and that second choreography was this one: Tsuno~
I actually fell in love with this song and choreography way back when it was first posted, and as it so happened, so had Caruka! So this song was just right for us~!

A little bit about this video!
I actually ordered matching sets of horns for us to wear, assuming that all I was going to have to do was paint Caruka's set in white to match her dress. But the horns arrived in the mail in pieces, and had to be glued together in a bunch of different ways in order to stabilize them against the rounded headbands. It was all right though; I enjoy art projects and had a lot of fun with them! During this shooting, one of my horns even fell off, but thankfully I brought the glue along for this ride, just in case, so I could fix them! xD At least Caruka's held up really well!

I am very, very thankful that Caruka enjoys videography so much, because she had to keep setting up the camera in many different and funky ways in order to get all of these various shots of me, that beautiful closeup of herself, and all of our varying wide shots. A thunderous round of applause for her--she is absolutely fantastic!

About this location: we just kinda walked around the park and randomly chose this place xD We didn't plan it beforehand! But in the moment, we felt like it suited the song very well and it didn't look like there were too many people walking through the tunnel, so we figured we could do the shooting here! It was, indeed, fairly easy to shoot here, other than the fact that we had to sometimes be careful of spotty sunlight through the trees during some of the closeup shots. Worth it!

Hmm, what else...? Oh yes--those full turns during the choruses were incredibly hard to perform on the gravel underneath my feet. I kept on feeling like I was off balance or like I was going to fall over xD Soooo you can imagine how happy I was to see the footage, and the fact that it does NOT look like I'm wobbly during those moments xD
Also, the duet choreography at the end of the song was such a breeze; such beautiful moments! I guess there is a really nice flow between Caruka and I. We tend to just...meet each other in the middle so comfortably with these choreographies, and our personal styles compliment each other so well~ I am so, so happy about that, and I'm so glad we got to film this dance together!

I feel like there are a lot of us out there who experience feeling “different" or “pushed away" by society--well, not because we have horns on our head, of course! We're all sometimes “not like the others" in our own ways. Our wish is that this tale of hope might lift you up, and remind you that no matter what, you're not alone, and you'll find a special friend or two to share your life, hobbies, or passions with if you just look hard enough~!
