Snow Corridor | Toyama, Japan

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a mountain sightseeing route between Tateyama (Toyama Prefecture) and Omachi (Nagano Prefecture). The route is composed of various transportation services including funicular, bus, trolleybus and aerial tramway.

We only went as far as Murodo due to weather and time limitation. A round trip ticket from the Tateyama Station to Murodo Station was ¥6,320, which included the cable car ride and bus ride. It would save time to reserve tickets online in advance. Also give yourself plenty of time and make sure to check the transportation schedule to avoid unpleasant surprises. Parking near the Tateyama Station is usually very packed.

If you love nature and hiking, the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is your destination. The “Snow Walls” are incredible and a must see once in a lifetime!
