Faster Ukulele Chord Changes In 60 Seconds (Seriously)

Here's a brilliant tip to improve the speed of your chord changes in just 60 seconds (seriously).

Our technique is to strip everything else away, no strumming patterns, no additional time, all of our effort will be completely focused on making the chord change. Because of this pure focus, 60 seconds really counts for a lot.

Pick the chord change you're struggling with, let's use F to G as an example. Set a timer for 60 seconds and press start. Strum your F chord once and switch to your G chord, strum again, go back to your F chord and repeat this process keeping tracking of how many good changes you can make in 60 seconds.

Don't try and cheat (in the words of my old form teacher Mr Hornby, you'll only be cheating yourself) or rush it, if you don't quite get the chord down correctly and it sounds a little off, don't count it. Just fret it again and strum again.

If you do this just a few times a day for even a handful of days you should notice a significant improvement in the speed of your chord changes.

Try and aim to get 60 clear chord changes in 60 seconds, that's a chord change every second which should be good enough to play most songs without your ability holding you up.
