At 1:30 am Sunday motorists started calling 911 reporting a house on fire in the 17500 block of FM 1485 in New Caney. East Montgomery County responded to the scene. With a station just a mile down the road, they arrived to find the mobile home fully involved threatening a steel structure and a home. Caney Creek and Porter FIre assisted in battling the blaze in an area where there are no fire hydrants. A portable water tank was set up and tankers were used to shuttle water. The occupants were able to escape and there were no injuries.  The home was a total loss. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal will be investigating.
