In the heart of Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan is a land of high plateaus, alpine valleys and towering peaks. Once a legendary crossroads of the Silk Roads, it remains the cradle of Kyrgyz nomadic culture.

Christophe Cousin travels through Soviet era towns, mountain roads and remote shepherd villages to understand how the Kyrgyz people have preserved their nomadic spirit despite history and modern pressures.
Yurts, horsemen, eagle hunters and traditional herding reveal a world where freedom is still lived on horseback.

In the Celestial Mountains, Christophe shares the daily life of shepherds who have anchored their yurts, and their identity, in these remote high pastures.
