After paddling 10.5 miles and seeing 23 alligators 🐊 on the Wekiva River, we decided to save our swim 🏊 at Wekiwa Springs 💧for the following day 😃. NOT because we were scared …but because we were exhausted mentally 🤯 and physically 💪!

Wekiwa Springs 💧is a natural spring located in Wekiwa Springs State Park, in Apopka, Florida. The spring water at Wekiwa Springs is not as crystal clear 👀 as some of the other springs we have visited but it’s definitely a fun place to hang out for the day ☀️. This spring maintains a constant water temperature 🌡️ of 72 degrees year round. Wekiwa Springs State Park also has a campground ⛺️, picnic area, and kayak launch (with rentals) making it a great spot for a family outing or weekend getaway. Admission 💴 to the park is just $6 per vehicle! We stayed at the campground ⛺️ for two nights. Since we decided to swim 🏊 the day we checked out, we parked the bus 🚌 in the day use area while we swam and then hit the road after 🚌💨.

If you visit this spring, or any others, make sure to bring snorkel 🤿 gear so you can see all the cool things under the water 🐟🌿🐢. Also, don’t forget to check out the head spring 💧where the water rushes out. Fun fact…this was the first spring 💧 we visited last year and we didn’t check out the head spring at all because we didn’t know any better 😒! Fun fact #2. Did you know that Wekiwa Springs State Park is also known for having black bears 🐻? We have yet to see one, but they’re out there.
