Описание к видео GAMBIAN PARTIES ENGAGE IN "COPY AND PASTE" POLITICS , CLAIMS DABAKH MALICK IN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

In an exclusive interview with host Essa Mballow, political analyst and social commentator Dabakh Malick delivered a sharp critique of The Gambia's political landscape, stating that the coalition government that took power in 2016 has failed to deliver on its core promises, particularly the enactment of a new constitution and meaningful reforms.

Malick called on citizens to hold politicians rigorously to account, accusing them of engaging in "politics of deception." He asserted that Gambians have learned significant lessons from 2016 to the present day and should not allow themselves to be fooled again in the upcoming 2026 elections.

Addressing the controversy surrounding the government's "Meet the People's Tour," Malick dismissed opposition claims that it is being overly politicized. He argued that the tour is inherently political, as the government organizing it is a political entity.

"It is impossible to remove politics from the tour because government itself is politics and the executive members are all politicians," he stated. He pointed out that similar criticisms were not leveled during the tours in 2017 and 2018 when most current opposition parties were part of the government, apart from the GDC and PDOIS.

Malick suggested that current critics would act no differently if they were in power.

Broadening his analysis, Malick expressed skepticism about the diversity of choice in The Gambia's multi-party democracy. He claimed that almost all political parties have similar programs and policies, engaging in a "copy and paste" approach.

"I don't see much difference between political parties," he concluded, painting a picture of a political class that has failed to offer distinct visions or fulfill transformative promises made to the electorate.
