One of the most fascinating and largely unknown aspects of Nigerian history is Ajayi Crowther's monumental role in shaping the spiritual, cultural and political lives of some of the peoples that would eventually come to make up the nation. This documentary explores the beginnings of how the modern history of the Yoruba people was fundamentally shaped by Christian missions, with Ajayi Crowther as the tip of the spear.
J. F. Ade Ajayi's "How Yoruba was reduced to writing" and J. D. Y. Peel's, "Religious Encounter and the Making of the Yoruba," were particularly helpful in my research for this documentary.
