Описание к видео Joe Kane Interview - Home Theater Screen Education

Joe Kane is one of the few video experts that has had a passion of educating consumers. His passion around having a consumer see what the cinematographer intended the audience to see has been incredible.
I first found out about Joe after I had purchased a Pioneer Elite 610 RPTV in the late 90's when I was trying myself to get the most accurate picture. Being a photographer originally, the concept of having what the printed picture represent what I photographed was immensely important. When I got the Elite 610, I became much more concerned about the picture quality from both my DVD player and my Pioneer Elite CLD-99. This is where I found out about Joe Kane and is Digital Video Essential Disc and the start of having any hope of getting an accurate picture.
In 1999, I bought a Sony G70 and had to make a screen purchase. I made a decision based on documentation from Joe Kane regarding the Stewart StudioTek 130 material.
A lot has changed since then, both in term of what are important characteristics of screens and the material and manufacturing process that is involved. Back then light output was difficult for projectors, thus having a higher gain screen was more important, but that typically came at the expense of color accuracy and/or viewing angle.
This is the first of a series of interviews that we were fortunate enough to have Joe Kane do for us at CEDIA. The first interview talks about screens, primarily in the 2D realm.
