In this video, James Conrad covers how to create a timed Windows backup to protect any critical data you want to keep. This process can apply to either internal or external hard drives. James will outline what you need to do, then walk you through this brief process.

Some files are too important to risk losing. Windows has a timed backup feature, and James will walk you through each step of setting this up.

You’ll begin at the Control Panel and click on “Back up your computer.” The next step is to click “Set up backup,” but this is a tool that you need to be in administrator mode to perform. If you’re not already there, you’ll be prompted for the username and password of the admin account. If your drive doesn’t appear immediately, you might have to refresh your screen. This happens frequently in the case of USB drives that aren’t always connected.

By the end of the video, you’ll feel confident that your most important files are completely safe.
