Redmi Y2 Full Review: Best Budget Phone of 2018.

Описание к видео Redmi Y2 Full Review: Best Budget Phone of 2018.

The Redmi Y2 is a feature rich phone & it is already a tough competitor for the low budget phones already existing in the market. So without wasting any more time lets start with the design of the Redmi Y2.

Design:

Redmi Y2 is decently slim, well place camera & appealing Antenna design is what I personally like on this phone. The phone is slightly taller which makes it difficult for me to operate. So I prefer to shrink the screen & use it comfortably. The Redmi Y2 has not done much to take care of the bezel size but I think that is okay for a 10k phone.

The power button & volume buttons are on the right side of the phone followed by USB charging port & grills for speaker & mic on the bottom. The front side looks ordinary but the rear looks exclusive. Apart from all this, we have a fingerprint scanner on the back which looks neat to me.

Specs & Display:

The Redmi Y2 has been released with 2 variants which can be extended to 128 GB:
1. 3GB RAM with 32GB Internal storage priced at Rs.9,999/-
2. 4GB RAM with 64GB Internal storage priced at Rs.12,999/-
The Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor powers the Redmi Y2.

Talking about the display, we have 5.99 inches of HD display on this phone as mentioned before & form factor of 18:9. Such huge & promising display is appropriate for immersive gaming & watching movies. Xiaomi, in order to match up with the trend, has introduced face unlock on the Redmi Y2.

Software & Performance:

The Redmi Y2 has MIUI 9.5 which is based on the Android oreo. You can also have a look at the MIUI & EMUI comparison video by clicking on this link. Xiaomi has a set of pre-installed Google apps along with Facebook, Amazon, PhonePe, Netflix etc. But this sort of bloatware is still a big NO for tech geeks like me.

Coming to the performance of the Redmi Y2, the Geekbench score is 845 for single core & 4326 for Multi-core. The score for Antutu is 71461. The Redmi Y2 priced at 10k is highly suitable for gaming & this is the most important factor why I would insist on buying this phone.

-Camera:

The Redmi Y2 has 12 megapixels & 5 megapixels on the rear & 16 megapixels front camera. All the cameras are AI-powered & they do have some excellent capturing capability. We also have a front flash but low light photography on the Redmi Y2 is a real struggle.

The edge detection works perfectly on this phone & this image says it all. The daylight photos look great in this price range. The phone has different modes & my personal favorite is the Manual mode where users can customize White Balance & ISO & bring out the photographer inside them.

Battery:

With not big juicy battery as Moto e5 Plus, Redmi Y2 comes up with 3080 mAh battery which lasts for a long day work on average usage & it has quite good battery backup even if you play intensely heavy games or doing a multitask. Battery usage is dependent on what you are doing on the device. With moderate apps usage like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram etc. battery would go a day long but with resource heavy apps can bog down the device & the battery drain is quite noticeable.

Final Verdict:

Overall Redmi Y2 has blended itself into both the customer categories where it suits the normal working people who use their smartphone for office purpose or for everyday usage & also has greater control over hardware to provide lag-free gaming experience. To sum it up I'd say Go for Redmi Y2!
