*Migrating Yarn to MojMap (Mojang Official Mappings): Techniques for Easier Migration to Mojmap*

🎮 Recently, Mojang announced that they are dropping the obfuscation from Minecraft Java in near future. As a consequence, Fabric API team and ModMuss announced that:

They are moving toward using Mojmap
They are working on a toolchain that will help migration for mod developers
Loom has already contain a tool that will do the migration however it will fail on reflection and mixin.

Let's not wait for the easy life of automated tools and go on a hard way of migrating to Mojmap. Why the hard way?

This is my personal preference when it comes to programming. I want to have 100% control over the whole process and overlook every single step.

When we are trying to manually translate our Minecraft mod in Fabric MC from Yarn mapping to Mojang's official mapping, sometimes, finding the proper name of a method inside linkie website is not possible. Sometimes the code is a method call in chain of commands and because of that, we can't easily identify the proper method names or even the parent object to look for naming. Sometimes when we look for the proper translation in Mojmap, we have multiple options, and we can't tell which one is the correct one.

In this video, I will continue manual translating one of my library sub-modules and talk about the useful tricks and different ways to look and find the proper naming when things don't go as smoothly as you wish for.
