Jemson is shocked and upset to learn his mother was murdered. The only person he could think of who would want to hurt his mom is his dad. Unlike Jemson, Keshroy (his brother) shows no typical signs of grief, which makes Detective Clark suspicious, but he doesn't believe Keshroy is emotionally capable of murder. But, police note it would have been impossible to see Beverly in the snow at night from the front door, as he described.

After clearing Jemson's father of any wrong-doing, the police focus their attention on Keshroy. They also bring in Jemson and Delmy (Keshroy's girlfriend). They've been told Delmy had a difficult relationship with Beverly and was also present the night of her murder. All three voluntarily go to the police station for further questioning.

After 4 hours of questioning, Detective Clark sits down and tells Keshroy he knows he's been lying. Keshroy slowly unveils his motive: he didn't want Beverly to take custody of his young daughter Mercedes and that Delmy was very controlling and despised his Mother. Keshroy waited for his mother on their porch. When she walked up, he grabbed her. They fell to the ground where he then strangled her with a rope. He told Detectives where they could find the rope, gloves and clothes he'd worn.

Criminal Confessions delves into the psychological showdown that takes place inside actual police interrogation rooms and dissects what happens to yield a confession. Each episode takes viewers through a real homicide case.
