When the festival season comes around, we are always concerned that the sweets or mithai we buy may be adulterated. So here is a quick and easy recipe of how to make Kesar peda at home without any mawa or khoya! This milk peda is made with milk powder and is flavoured with kesar or saffron. You can easily make this peda in 10 minutes for any festival. Especially festivals like Rakshabandhan or Bhai Dooj. It can also be consumed during fasts such as Navratri, Shivratri , Janmashtami as well.

Recipe :
Kesar Peda
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 20 Pedas
Ingredients :
250g milk powder
3 tbsp ghee
½ cup milk
½ cup sugar
Sliced Pistachios to garnish
½ tsp Kesar
Few drops lemon yellow colour
Method:
Add the ghee to the pan. Add milk and bring to a boil.
Add the milk powder and mix well cook on low flame till the mixture starts coming together like a ball.
Add the kesar soaked in a tsp of warm water.
Add the sugar and cook till the mixture again begins to come together as a ball else it won’t set properly and will become sticky.
Add a few drops of lemon yellow colour.
Mix well.
Break into lemon sized balls. Shape well and garnish with a slice of pistachio and a kesar strand.
Set and serve.
