Force Motors unveiled the BS6 Gurkha SUV. India's most capable domestic off-roader gets an emissions-compliant 90PS and 280Nm engine, revised front and rear fascia, and government-mandated safety features. The Gurkha showcased was the three-door variant but we expect similar styling to follow in the five-door variant as well.

In the looks department, the updates to the Gurkha are subtle. New bumpers, a revised grille, and headlamps with halo LED DRLs spruce up the old-school aesthetic. At the rear, the Gurkha gets revised taillamps and a redesigned bumper.

Although the Gurkha was available with 2.2-litre and 2.6-litre BS4 engines, only the 2.6-litre engine receives the BS6 update. It is rated at 90PS of power and 280Nm of torque and can be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The BS6 Gurkha is equipped with driver and passenger airbags, ABS, and rear parking sensors.

For off-roading, its 5-speed manual gearbox is paired with a low-range transfer case. The suspension has coil springs all-round and an independent setup in the front. At the rear, a rigid live axle is present.

In addition to the Gurkha, Force Motors also showcased the Gurkha customized, a hardcore off-roading machine. It has a wider stance, larger tyres, raised suspension, and a winch.
