In this video, Leander, released in 1991 for the Atari ST by Psygnosis
Take the role of a knight named Leander (Galahad in the sega megadrive version) in this "save the lady in distress and kill who kidnapped her" game.
The story is simple: You wander through 7 levels for each of the 3 worlds, killing every sort of enemies, men, dragons, snakes, elves (aye, kill those pointed-ear basturds) and collecting coins that can be used to buy armors, weapons and potions. Every level ends with a portal that must be activated collecting its key, in order to go to the next one. A hint where to find the key is given at the start of the level during loading time.
The game is simply brilliant, graphically is a joy for the eyes, with only some fps drops here and there. The scrolling is smooth, sprites are big, the main character well animated, the world is detailed and the color palette is well used, considering hardware limitations. Unfortunately, afetr a good digitized intro music with a short animation, we only have a few selection of sound effects and no in-game music and after a level or two you could heavily feel the lack of music. You can always add some external music to accompany you in your quest. Strangely enough for Psygnosis standards, we don't have only a tech demo, but also a highly playable game that is not so hard to complete.
