Описание к видео Maintaining Professional Boundaries in Counseling with Muslim Clients

Professional Boundaries are defined as "mutually understood, unspoken physical and emotional limits of the relationship between the client and the counselor". Every major professional organization within the field of psychology, social work, counseling etc. stresses the importance of avoiding (as much as possible) relationships with clients outside of the therapeutic setting.  Muslim mental health professionals (who work with Muslim clients) often find themselves dealing with a unique dilemma: balancing the desire to maintain one's professional identity and ethical obligations while working and/or living in a relatively small faith community context?
What if a Muslim client and counselor worship at the same mosque?
What happens if a client and counselor find themselves guests at the same wedding or community event?
What if a counselor and client share  mutual friends on Facebook?
What are some useful strategies and guidelines for dealing with these and other scenarios ethically, responsibly and respectfully?Join this Healers Collective discussion to find out!
