We have developed the Ribbon Paddle agitator design for the fast and homogenous blending of friable materials, pastes and other such applications. The outer paddle elements in place of the conventional ribbon flights minimize the pinch points along the container. The inner ribbon flights direct the product from the centre toward the ends. The paddles gently scoop the materials and direct them toward the centre discharge. There is a lower frictional heat generation and less shear as compared to the double-helical ribbon agitator.

Another benefit of the outer paddle/inner ribbon configuration on the Paddle / Ribbon Blender is the greater range of batch sizes, particularly at the low end of the scale. The combination agitator style allows for smaller batches much like those of a Paddle Blender. They may be as low as 10% of the rated batch capacity of the Paddle / Ribbon Blender depending upon the mix ingredients.

The Ribbon - Paddle agitator is the best suited for applications including pastes, friable materials. The other advantage of the Ribbon Paddle design is that high-speed choppers can be incorporated, for the disintegration of lumps, agglomerates.
