Aisha Bint Abu Bakr | Heroic Muslims of the Past | Dr. Shabir Ally

Описание к видео Aisha Bint Abu Bakr | Heroic Muslims of the Past | Dr. Shabir Ally

Aisha (may God be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), was an outspoken woman, scholar and teacher of Islam. She is one of the most prolific narrators of hadiths. She offered a woman's perspective on Islam and insider information on the private life of the Prophet Muhammad: how he behaved at home, how he ate, how he prayed, and how he conducted his private relations with family members. She challenged prominent companions of the Prophet in the public domain. She also led men in battle. Sometimes, Muslims conceive of the ideal woman as someone who is quiet and demure, but Dr. Shabir Ally says Aisha demonstrates to us that there was great diversity among women in early Islam and they could serve a wide variety of functions within a Muslim society.
